Project Brief

Giving a blurring boundary of indoor and outdoor spaces, large panoramic windows of the façade offered significate contribution. The warm wood colour and green climbing plants bring warm atmosphere and clear visual connection. Within the timber structure placed in front of the shop glazing window, the bored shop gets the chance to create a much lighter view. Timber structure extends from the shop front to the products’ display shelves, the light colour of the timber provide the main colour scheme to the shop and also create the colour contrast between the projects.

Project Innovation/Need

As the shop location is on the main street where the pedestrian concentrated, the visual connection between indoor and outdoor spaces are the primary concern for this project. The lighting configuration improved the visibility of the shop to lure customers’ curiosity. The timber decoration structures provide the visual impact elements in the shop, at the same time it also creates the connection with the middle products’ display shelves.

Design Challenge

The configuration of the wooden structural shelves was the challenge for this design, the continuous flow of the wooden colour was curious to give the customers’ the sense of warm welcome. But at the same time, we need to control the density of the structure to make sure we can invite the natural light come inside of the shop and create the beautiful shadows from the projection of the timber structure to the floor.

Sustainability

We used the natural timber as the main decorations in the shop, at the same time the energy-saving LED lights with dimmer were selected in the shop to save the electric energy.
