Project Brief

Toys"R"Us is one of the largest and most renowned toy and baby store chains in Australia. In 2009 they ventured into the eCommerce realm by launching a limited range online store.

In looking to expand their online offering, Toys"R"Us sought Powerfront's help and advice. Both decided to come up with a brand new online store reflecting the Toys”R”Us tradition of providing a great range of product to its customers.

The site quickly became one of our masterpiece creations. It showcased many advanced conversion features to boost the online sales while providing an unparalleled shopping experience. The conversion increased by more than 100% within the first month. Both Powerfront and Toys"R"Us are very satisfied with the results so far.

Project Need

The main product navigation is powered by mega menus, allowing visitors to directly jump to a specific product category in a single click. Visitors have the ability to rate products and leave a review on a product to recommend it to other shoppers. The advanced product finder simplifies your task to find the perfect gift for your 3-year old cousin. The product memoriser remembers your visited products and displays your top 4 on the home page for the next time you visit. Wish list allows visitors to create their own list and share it with their friends and families.

As a result, the conversion increased by more than 100% within the first month.

Design Challenge

The creative worked really hard to streamline these advanced features into colourful and attractive presentations for better usability especially for non-tech savvy visitors. And we nailed it. The website looks visually spectacular and easy to use.

Sustainability

Every Powerfront website, including Toys”R”Us is hosted in multiple virtual servers, instead of one physical server per site. The use of virtual server technology reduces the power usage while at the same time lower the carbon footprint. In the long run, it also helps reduces the cost of maintaining more physical servers.




This award recongises innovation and unique user experience in the combination of text, audio, still images, animation, video, and interactivity content for websites. Consideration given to clarity of communication and the matching information style to audience.


Judging Note : Judging for this category will be finalised on Monday 27th August and Finalists will be announced on Tuesday 28th August.
