Project Overview

We think that ordering coffee with a smartphone is a pretty cool idea.

365cups lets you find a café, view its menu, place your order, nominate a collection time, pick up and go– all with a few taps, scrolls and clicks of your smartphone.

Fast forward 12 months to our lightbulb moment – why not share our smart mobile ordering platform with other businesses?

165,000 orders later, 365cups has expanded into a complete mobile ordering system that is used by businesses ranging from cafes and pizza parlours, to property groups and pet food suppliers!

But wait there is more! We can now make branded Apps for iPhone and Android … AND Franchised Branded Apps as well!

Project Brief

If you think waiting is overrated, then 365cups is for you!

The concept was simple – use the 365cups App on your smartphone to pre-order your coffee, nominate a collection time and it will be ready for you when you arrive.

That was so 2011!

365cups now has over 25,000 App users and has generated more than $1.5 million in revenue for 100+ venues all over Australasia.

Two years and 165,000 orders later, 365cups has expanded its service and is using its complete mobile ordering system to power Apps for other retail and hospitality businesses.

If you’re having a pet food problem, in need of a newspaper or just hanging for a hotdog, chances are you can order it through your smartphone via a business using 365cups. Our proven system provides fast, efficient, convenient ordering for tech savvy customers – no waiting required!

While every business uses our system a little differently, the process is basically the same:
• Use the business’s App on your smartphone to browse products and place your
order
• Nominate a collection time or pickup even delivery!
• Your order is ready.

But that’s not all…

Business can also customize their App with a range of standard features including:
• Dine in, takeaway, pickup and delivery options
• 4 Customer loyalty programs
• Payments via online credits
• Integration with social media

Whether you’re a business client or customer, 365cups is easy to access, simple to use, and available 24/7.

And to think that this all began with coffee…

Project Need

If we had a middle name, it would be innovation.

365cups is Australia’s leading mobile ordering system, and once you use it you will wonder how you ever lived without it!

Created in regional NSW, 365cups was the first to market with an iPhone coffee ordering App in Australia and holds an innovation patent. After 12 months of operation, the mobile coffee ordering business was roasting, so it was time to let other businesses in on the secret!

365cups has expanded its service and now powers Branded and Franchised Apps for other retail and hospitality businesses. Cafes, fruit shops, rural cooperatives and metro property groups have all jumped on board.

For customers, some of the innovative features include:
• Search function and maps of business locations
• Product images
• Loyalty rewards programs
• Collection time input
• Favourites list to store past orders for quick access
• Payment via online credits
• Social media integration

For businesses, the App provides:
• Online access to orders
• A linked thermal printer that automatically prints orders as they’re placed
• Franchise option where all outlets can be accessed from a single App
• Four customer loyalty options
• Social media feeds on their profile
• An ordering method that is convenient for busy tech-savvy customers
• Increased market exposure
• Faster service for their customers
• Real-time stats on customer buying habits which can be used for targeted
marketing campaigns
• E-Marketing capabilities

365cups will never be a ‘finished product’ – we will continue to innovate and expand its usability to meet the changing needs of our users.

User Experience

There are Apps for wasting time (Candy Crush anyone?) and Apps for saving time, and 365cups is definitely the latter! ??

Customers (app users):

For customers, it’s about fast, easy and convenient ordering that saves time and can be done with a tap of their smartphones.

• Load the App with the tap of a finger.
• Browse the menu/catalogue and place your order.
• Claim your loyalty reward - bonus!
• Nominate your collection time.
• Pay via online credits or upon collection.
• Go the business where your order is ready.
• Use the App to post to the business’s social media page. Like!

Clients (businesses):

For clients, it’s about more effective ordering systems, increasing sales and keeping up with tech-savvy customers.

• Customise your profile by adding images, loyalty programs, delivery, dine-in or
takeaway options, online credit payment and e-marketing capabilities.
• Receive orders online via a tablet or through the thermal printer.
• Orders are prepared according to nominated collection times.
• Customers are happy because they don’t have to wait.
• Real time sales stats are available at the click of a button.

365cups was developed by us, Simone and Mariusz, two coffee and gadget-loving friends whom have never worked in the retail or hospitality industries.

This means we work extra closely with our clients to ensure the system is working for them and their customers. We encourage feedback and ideas and often incorporate them into our product. We will continue to grow, expand and evolve to ensure we are meeting the needs of the market.

Project Marketing

Our marketing strategy positions 365cups as the leader in mobile ordering in Australia – the first to go to market with mobile coffee ordering and one that is continually being enhanced to meet the changing market.

Customers:

Our ‘customer’ marketing strategies focus around online tactics, which fits their profile as tech-savvy App users. We primarily use social media and YouTube to engage users. We are connected with over 2,000 people via social media and our engagement is hot! Word of Mouth has been very effective. We also engage customers with an annual survey where they can provide feedback and suggestions to improve the App.

Clients:

Again, we use online tactics such as our website, social media and YouTube to engage clients. We also use direct marketing tactics and face-to-face promotion. Word of Mouth has been effective with clients, as has our annual client feedback survey.

General strategies:

We have a marketing and public relations plan that outlines the actions and tactics we use to target new users and clients, and maintain communications with current users and clients. It also outlines steps we will take to gain broad media coverage of 365cups, which has recently resulted in coverage on 60 Minutes, Sky News, Prime and Win TV, 2UE radio in Sydney and 6PR in Perth, NYCProwler.com, an invitation to speak at the National Information and Communication Technologies Australia ‘Meet the Founders’ interview series, and print coverage in the Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, and the Brisbane Times.
