Inspiration/Method
I work in the construction industry and see alot of waste. One day instead of taking the load of rubbish to the tip I took it to my workshop and created this buffet.
I wanted to show that with a little bit of effort something that is thought of as rubbish can be transformed into something really beautifull. Using waste materials also keeps costs down making customed designed furniture accessible to everyone.
Design Challenge
The challenge with using recycled materials is its limitations. I really had to learn how to use this material to its strenthgs. keeping the colours and character at the forfront. The furniture industry is a buzz with recycled materials, the challange is creating a product that can be manufactured as recycled timber is unique and struggles to be mass produced (which can also be a benefit)
