Light, movement and sound will unite in the form of a collaborative runway installation, 'Aves Insecta' for the debut of Australian fashion label Tettmann.Doust during the L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival.

Naomi Tettmann and Elke Doust, who together form Tettmann.Doust combine their sensibility for fashion and art to develop their carefully considered garments. Imaginative print and embellishment design compliment a combination of innovative tailoring and draping to reveal their contemporary sartorial vision.

Inspired by a mutual curiosity in aesthetics associated with the study of nature, their fascination with birds and insects takes on a scientific charm as the two deconstruct various anatomies to create their own symmetries and systems.

Projection artist Yandell Walton and animator Tobias J take inspiration from the collection and join forces to showcase their creative talents, bringing 'Aves Insecta' to life.

LMFF Cultural Program event 'Aves Insecta' will be held at Thousand Pound Bend, 361 Lt Lonsdale St Melbourne, 8-10pm Thursday March 1st 2012. Click here for more information.

Tettmann.Doust AW12 will arrive in-store at stockists around Australia from mid March, email info@tettmanndoust.com for more information.
