Organisation
Project Context
A key challenge of being blind is not lack of vision, but a lack of immediate access to visual information. Aira is on a mission to provide instant access to information for anyone, no matter where they are in life's journey.
Project Innovation
Through a smartphone app, or through an optional pair of Horizon Smart Glasses, Aira delivers instant access to visual information at the touch of a button – enhancing everyday efficiency, engagement, and independence.
When an Aira user places a call, they are connected with a highly trained Aira agent who is able to view footage live streamed from the user's device and translate visual information to the user in order to assist them in completing daily tasks such as reading important information unavailable in braille, or navigating busy and complex environments.
Blind and low-vision people can use also use Aira's service for free through the Aira Access Network, comprised of high profile businesses, websites and digital products, retailers, airports, supermarket chains, campuses, and sports venues.
