Best Design Commissioner


The Best Commissioner of Design Award will be awarded to the business or manufacturer that consistently commissions excellent design work thereby providing instrumental support to the wider design community. This category is selected from all entries into the awards and no entry fee is required.  

 

Best Design Creator


The Best Creator of Design Award will be awarded to the studio, advertising agency, architectural firm or other design professional that consistently achieves excellence in design creation. This award will be allocated in three categories based on business size – less than 5 employees, 5-20 employees and greater than 20 employees. This category is selected from all entries into the awards and no entry fee is required.   

 

Best Online Design Publication


The Best Online Design publication must be produced specifically for the design community either professional or the design public. This award recognises the publication that is regarded as the best design publication. The publication must be online or in digital format.
  

 

Lighting Design


This award recognises best use of lighting design or effects in indoor or outdoor spaces.

  

 

Product Design - Lighting


This award recognises the design of lighting solutions, with consideration given to concept, originality, function, aesthetic, architectural integration and energy effectiveness.   

 

Textile + Surface Design - Fashion


This award recognises printed, knitted, woven, surface pattern and illustration for cloth, fabric or structural material. Consideration given to the technical aspects of production and overall selection of materials, and relationship to end product and use.

  

 

Textile + Surface Design - Interior


This award recognises printed, knitted, woven, surface pattern and illustration for cloth, fabric or structural material and surface design applications. Consideration given to the technical aspects of production, visual aesthetics, and relationship to end product and use.  

 

Product Design - Consumer


This award recognises a component or overall product. Consideration given to aspects that relate to human usage, aesthetics, selection of components and materials, and the resolution of assembly, manufacturing and the overall function.   

 

Architecture - Residential - Constructed


This award recognises the design process and product of planning, designing and constructing form, space and ambience that reflect functional, technical, social, and aesthetic considerations. Consideration given for material selection, technology, light and shadow. The project must be constructed.   

 

Architecture - Commercial - Constructed


This award recognises the design process and product of planning, designing and constructing form, space and ambience that reflect functional, technical, social, and aesthetic considerations. Consideration given for material selection, technology, light and shadow. The project must be constructed.   

 

Architecture - Residential - Proposed


This award recognises the design process and product of planning, designing and constructing form, space and ambience that reflect functional, technical, social, and aesthetic considerations. Consideration given for material selection, technology, light and shadow. The project can be a concept, tender or personal project, i.e. proposed space.   

 

Architecture - Commercial - Proposed


This award recognises the design process and product of planning, designing and constructing form, space and ambience that reflect functional, technical, social, and aesthetic considerations. Landscape Architecture


This award recognises the use of practical, aesthetic, horticultural, and environmental sustainability components, taking into account climate, site and orientation, site drainage and irrigation, human and vehicular access, furnishings and lighting.

This award recognises building interiors, with consideration given to furnishings, finishes and aesthetic presentation. Please specify furnishings lighting, flooring, colours and fabrics.
