Project Overview

As an agency focused on the nonprofit sector, we wouldn't usually expect to work with a funeral director. But this one IS a nonprofit! In fact, since its inception, Bethel Funerals has donated over $5.5 MILLION to charity.

Project Brief

Bethel Funerals had a dated looking website with lots of content. The challenge was to improve the site's UX while lifting the brand positioning and focusing on its purpose-driven approach.

Project Need

The two key user personas were families needing to arrange a funeral, and “pre-planners”. In addition to this, were funeral attendees who needed a different user journey to the marketing orientation. The important difference about Bethel is that they are a business that gives their surplus funds away to support mission, humanitarian and local community causes- as their tagline states- they are for Compassion, not for profit.

User Experience

The resulting website is warm and welcoming, building on the established brand while introducing new visuals and photography. Landing pages are designed to funnel prospective customers toward making an inquiry, answering common questions, and providing clear calls to action. People can easily attend a funeral with a prominent banner as part of the header navigation.

Project Marketing

Bethel funerals is part of a group of funeral homes that support a similar cause. To date they have supported 19 charites and donated more than 5 million dollars. The full impact of their work can be found here https://impact.wordinvestments.org.au

Project Privacy

The website is publicly accessible and privacy policy has been included on all pages

This category is all about helping our communities to connect and engage, from emergency services to Not for Profits to social groups, these apps and sites not may not only assist in delivery but also create efficiencies providing those at the coalface more time to do their important work whether it be fighting fires or managing the local team. It's not all serious though we're also looking for projects that work to help bring the community groups together with fun and enjoyable activities.
