Project Overview
The project is situated in Wuhan, China. It translates local natural and cultural contexts into narrative scenes themed by “contemporary heaven of peace”, fitting the attributes of the project. Modern architectural curved languages break conventional interior design methods. Geometries are staggered and stacked under the large frame, releasing infinite tension of anti-gravity structural aesthetics.
In addition to functionality and aesthetic value, the design attempts to pacify the inner world and slow down the pace of life. The design expresses art and touches the hearts of people. The boundary between the interior and the outside is gradually resolved. People can enjoy reading, chatting, sunshine and shades while sitting under a tree. The project performs a future composite format and redefines the relationship between people and nature, allowing people to embrace ecology and themselves.

Project Brief
The project continues the artistic design languages of building facades. DSC•DESIGN blended humanism and naturalism into the interior. To set the benchmark for future ecological resorts, the design team shaped a brand new humanistic community that integrates commerce, art and nature into a whole. Reading & coffee scene, negotiation & sales scene, and interactive & instagrammable scene are incorporated into the overall immersive space, evoking imagination about and resonance with future life.
The curved brand wall and the huge LED screen are naturally coherent, responding to the annular suspended ceiling.
The sunken property model display area provides a panoramic view of the whole situation, convenient for viewers to have a comprehensive overview of the overall project. The open design languages strengthen the transparency and magnificence of the space.
The green strip-shaped installation suspended in the air generates a sense of the ethereal, revealing static and dynamic beauty. Circular lighting fixtures are dotted across the suspended ceiling in an arc-shaped arrangement, outlining a background as surreal as interstellar trajectories and filling the space with a free, unstrained and eclectic atmosphere.
Project Need
The curved surfaces and lines and large-area blank form an abstract context, which highlights the charm of spatial atmosphere, naturally shows the fluidity of interior structure, and produces a waving, textured and soft aesthetic. The varying walls guide circulation routes. The landscape narrative techniques, which combine the virtuality and reality, break the spatial dullness and arouse emotional variation, with artistry stimulating people’s curiosity to explore the immersive space.
The large-area staircase enables the space to grow upwards. Relaxing and pleasant sensory feeling leads people to a tranquil book world that brings an immersive and healing spatial experience.
Full-height bookcase is enclosed, thereby producing a sense of security. The interaction between people and the scene creates a new positive relationship, and evokes emotional resonance among people, enabling them to return to daily life with a poetic attitude.
Design Challenge
A large amount of hyperbolic surfaces and customized materials, such as the seamless wood-like panel on the suspended ceiling, and the seamless special artificial stone on the floor, bring a natural and integrated spatial feeling.
Due to the distinctive architectural form and lots of hyperbolic shapes, it was a big challenge to integrate and unify the interior and the architecture and ensure the practical effect of construction techniques. Besides, how to achieve a good lighting effect in such a large space posed another great challenge to the project.
Sustainability
The integration of multi-functional scenes and natural landscapes endows the overall spatial setting and people’s health with continuous and renewable energy. The optimized spatial arrangement maximizes the introduction of natural daylight. Coupled with even diffused lighting, the project saves energy and meets the requirements of environmental protection. The community-friendly, comfortable spatial environment with sharing concept and rich experiences help attract more property buyers to enter the sales center, realizing the sustainability and harmonious unity of economic benefits, environmental benefits and human benefits.

Open to all international projects this award celebrates innovative and creative building interiors, with consideration given to space creation and planning, furnishings, finishes, aesthetic presentation and functionality. Consideration also given to space allocation, flow, building services, lighting, fixtures, flooring, colours, furnishings and surface finishes.
