Project Brief

Tailored to the owner's preferences and needs and combined with the designer's specialized aesthetics, this project is a masterpiece beyond compare.
While preserving the abode's original layout, the first floor, as the main public area of the house, utilizes corresponding design elements to exhibit the concept of symmetry and weave tranquility through the atmosphere. As visitors step into the space, white marble walls and black built-in cabinets greet them. The combination of coordinated soft furnishings create an end view with a symmetrical visual effect.

Project Need

The private bedrooms are located on the second to fourth floors. The master bedroom on the second floor is the hostess’s main living area. In response to the owner's request of online video to contact the office after returning home, the bedroom and the study are specially integrated. The dark wooden desk and large wall cabinets create a spatial atmosphere akin to a coffee shop or a retro bar, where people can relieve stress after work by sipping their favorite beverages.

Design Challenge

Beyond the entrance foyer is an open area that functions both as a living room and a dining room. The design of the silver-marbled, segment-patterned flooring tiles extend to the walls. One wall is constructed with the same material as the flooring tiles, whereas the opposite side, being the main wall, has metallic warm grey and golden lines that elegantly compose an alternative visual focus on the canvas of white space.

Sustainability

The dining area is located in the second half of the open space, continuing the tranquil feelings created by the marble flooring and the main wall. The upper ceiling with the circular lamps and the fillets have edges and corners that add a smooth touch to the space. The sliding door made with a large black wooden grille behind the dining area not only blocks fumes from the kitchen while preparing food, but also maintains a partial transparency of the kitchen, all the while allowing light and communication to pass through in a timely manner. First, the bright space reduces the use of lamps, thereby achieving the effect of energy saving and carbon reduction. The second the construction materials are made of local manufacturers and combined with light-weight woodwork methods, which greatly reduces the waste of transportation.
