Project Brief

In order to provide guests with quality experience and a sense of home, this hotel is designed in line with the concept of "function is decoration". Instead of piling up superfluous decorations, it maximizes the functions of space. With modern design techniques, it has reached a balance among design, art and business, to create a tranquil, elegant and comfortable atmosphere.
With warm brown as the main tone, black, white and gray are also applied in the space to achieve a color balance. The space, dark as a whole, keeps a private, quiet atmosphere. Under the rectangular pattern, the spacious lobby is extended to the lobby bar by the corrugated stainless steel plates on the ceiling, which is blocked in the route by the white marble wall. The relatively private lobby bar is laid with cloth sofas, lit with simple floor lamps, letting visitors resting here feel calm and comfortable. The book bar space is brighter, with a neat bookshelf and hexagonal chandelier, adding a touch of rationality.
The dining room floor, dining table and tabletop are all made of marbles, which are easy to clean while creating a sense of dignity. The oak wood finishes of the ceiling and the agate limestone of the dining table form a cold and warm confrontation, which are mutually restrained to achieve a balance, and make the space advanced, comfortable and elegant. Loop windows are designed on both sides to bring in abundant light, and enjoy the scenery.

Project Innovation/Need

The design advocates a natural, free and comfortable lifestyle and attitude. In the bedrooms, the designer has created a warm and comfortable feeling with wood floor, echoing the vision of a free and happy journey with blue background wall and blue curtains. The background wall of a flock of birds implies a sense of belonging, as the tranquil landscape makes people carefree and leisurely.

In view of the modern, efficient trip mode, which involves less and less luggage, the designer ingeniously transforms the single function into the multi-effect innovation portfolio, integrating the luggage sets, toilet wash basin, and laundry rack, to save the space, ensure the functions, and make them pleasing to the eyes.

Design Challenge

The biggest challenge of this project is how to maximize the functions of space. The space of the original building is very limited, same goes to the story height. Therefore In line with the concept of "function is decoration”, the functions of space are divided and reorganized based on the target customers’ needs, aiming to make full use of the original space while achieving an atmosphere of comfort and tranquility at the same time.

Sustainability

Sustainability feature in this project begins with the selection of materials. Using the simplest, most conventional materials is throughout the whole process. Marbles are greatly used in the lobby and dinning room, with a new material corrugated stainless steel plates on the ceiling. Wood floor and multi-effect innovation portfolio in guestrooms are also applied in accordance with "function is decoration” concept. Without superfluous decorations, designers manage to maximize the functions of space and achieve economically sustainability.
