Project Brief

The whole space contains the designer's thinking and interpretation of the relationship between human and space, and the pursuit of relaxed and natural comfort in calm and restraint. The overlapped white lacquer line and marble art wall are created by paying homage to the design elements of the International Master of architecture Scarpa and combining with the Chinese ancient painting "Traveling amid Mountains and Stream". The ancient technology and modern materials are perfectly integrated, and the infectious architectural vocabulary reinterprets the texture and trace left by time. Three light readings are interspersed with them, bringing a kind of wordless humanistic edification to the future residents.
The meditation area focuses on highlighting the virtual reality and mobility of space. The white tone is used as the base, and the functional layout is presented in the invisible separation, with a very specific sense of block and visual tension. The water ripples carved on the marble are the art of time solidification, the combination of ancient traditional culture and modern art, the embodiment of delicacy, and implicitness of Oriental people, and the integration of thoughts, feelings and art. Under the tree shadow's whirling smallpox, you can place a transparent table with brilliant lights, put on the Heart Sutra copied by hand, for people to meditate.

Project Need

When slow life is mentioned more and more, simplicity and indifference have become a desire of urban people. After aesthetic changes, people find that the simpler and more ordinary the color is, the more complex and profound the meaning of life can be interpreted. Zhuangzi said: "empty room makes white, auspicious stop". Such a state of returning to simplicity is just a reflection of the ideal living mood of urban elites. From the perspective of modern design, combined with soft colors and natural texture, the book bar has been transformed into a carrier of functionality and artistry, and given a different personality of space, while leaving enough aftertaste.
On the basis of meeting the functional requirements, the designer always follows the golden rule of "less is more". There is no gorgeous color to render, nor complex elements to stack, so that the design returns to the pure essence. The restrained furniture is presented by smooth lines, thus creating a natural and comfortable space atmosphere.

Design Challenge

With the development of society, people pay more and more attention to the fit of self spirit in the exploration of commercial space structure in addition to the practical use. The tea room area is called "Matsuzaka", which is taken from Wang Wei's poem "the bright moon shines among the pines, and the clear spring stone flows upward".
In addition, the designer's skilful control of the light also makes the teahouse area full of vitality. The natural light flowing in and the warm light hidden in the gap meet and flow in the space. The reflection of light and dark, the resonance of light and shadow, make the materiality and form of the building fully expressed, and let the whole space be more vivid. Simple and atmospheric field, leaves space blank, but not lose beauty. Being in it is like entering a quiet dream.

Sustainability

This space is the overhead floor of the building and is used as a display space during the sales period. When the owner officially moves in, the space and functional design of the overhead floor can still be reserved without demolition. While reducing construction waste, it also ensures the utilization rate of resources and space.
The air conditioner is not installed on the overhead floor. Considering the actual use after the official occupancy, the designer uses a rotatable vertical grid on one wall of the overhead floor. Therefore, the indoor and outdoor ventilation of the space is good in summer, and the grid can be closed to keep the indoor temperature in winter, so as to achieve the environmental protection goal of energy conservation and emission reduction.
Customers originally hoped to use stone to decorate the white study, but the designer for energy conservation and environmental protection considerations, the final use of white emulsion paint in this space.
The furniture on the overhead floor fully considers the safety and comfort needs of the elderly and children. The materials are skin friendly, and the edges are smooth without sharp edges.
