Project Overview
This 2-stories apartment with 2 balconies is located at top of the building. For the layout, it has divided into 2 main spaces: public and private. The 1st floor is more public with entrance, dining/living area, kitchen, maid’s room and balconies. The 2nd floor considers as a private area with a family room and 3 bedrooms. In both floors, the full-length windows fill most of the areas feeding off the interior with natural lights, ocean view and city skyline. Next to the living room, there is the big balcony that design as a relaxing area with jacuzzi, seating area and a decorative horse facing the outstanding view. The “Horse” element has continued showing at many spaces of the interior. In the living area, the focal point is the red female painting on the wall, combing a great amount of flowers all over the space to enhance the feminine feeling and to layer the space. In order to achieve the design goal, the design style, color and decorations are mostly related to 1930s Shanghai era. The designer had also set up the newest smart home system to be technology modern within the retro Shanghai theme space.

Project Brief
To create a playground, a garden, and a zoo combined, is also the definition of this apartment design. The core entertainment areas are the 2 balconies; they have designed as a playground that brings fun and enjoyment to both adults and children. The big balcony has a Jacuzzi, seating area and a decorative horse. Moreover, many spaces have left empty in order to let the kids run around and play games. Being functional also safe are the main keys to create this space; a narrow fish pond with railing surrounds the balcony keeping distance from human to the edges which provides safety to the kids. Another balcony is smaller and more for adult, a bar and a gathering area with table and chairs are ideal for a group of friends to have gatherings. The second floor provides a full home entertainment feature that includes a home theater. On both floors, there are many animal decorations and flowers filling spaces to create a welcoming environment like a zoo and garden.
Project Need
This project is a showflat case which is designed for developers. The significance of developing this project is to promote the property, also the developer company and the interior design company themselves. In order to achieve the goal, the designer installed a three-meter tall symbolic horse on the 44th floor; it is totally the spotlight of the surrounding. It can easily be noticed during the day and night and be memorable to anyone that sees it. This is a great marketing tool for the property developers and to showcase the designer.
Design Challenge
In order to achieve the design goal, the designer used a great amount of decorations. For example the designer installed a glowing horse statue that is three meter in height on the 44th floor balcony. This allowed the symbolic sculpture to be visible during day and night. There are many details of decorations, for example the flower arrangement were all hand crafted and final touched by the designer, as extra layers to the feminine feeling.

Reasonable selection of good building materials not only reduces the persecution of nature, but also reduces construction costs.
