Project Brief

This interior design project is located in Kunming, Yunnan, where the ancient Dian culture represents the most cultivated culture of the ancient cities in Kunming. Living in the diversified city, exploring the long history, and knowing the unique national culture. Given the extraordinary geographical advantages of the ancient canal side, our building enjoys the well-develop transportation, the planned two railways, the surrounding eco-park and the excellent quality of life.

Project Need

The calm atmosphere, as serene as the reclusive life, signifies the harmonious life with nature. The designer utilizing the natural differences of lands creates the peaceful oriental building that improves the city recognition and creates the orderly space sequence, where the quiescent life transcends the secular prosperity.

Design Challenge

The mild clouds, the boundless rivers, the persistent literature and the successional Confucianism. The bonding time and space, among the tranquil ambience of the ancient Dian culture, combine the art and life, and recreate further. The seemingly plain indoor space, based on the concept of the simplified forms and delicate mind, reveals the enlivened momentum and aloof serenity that create the artistic space with the oriental temperament aesthetics. The extensive blue jade marbles corresponding with the dark gray marbles help develop the clear and expanded space. The fine art ceiling lamps sprinkling on the environment models spawn the oriental charms, which are calm and warm. Studying the ancient literatures and arts, meeting friends on grounds of culture, and devoting to enculturation.

Sustainability

The soft trim designs mildly applying the metallic adornments generate the calm moment that exposes the pure oriental style. The self-serve beverage bar, where the stairs piling alongside the windows, reveals the cool quality. The exquisite lights slightly scattering in the tall space generate the elegant aura. Talking freely before the vintage shelves, savoring the tea, and releasing from the great changes of world.

Open to all international projects this award celebrates innovative and creative building interiors, with consideration given to space creation and planning, furnishings, finishes, aesthetic presentation and functionality. Consideration also given to space allocation, traffic flow, building services, lighting, fixtures, flooring, colours, furnishings and surface finishes.
