Project Brief

As the client request, the design should follow in French style, innovative and open space. We observed the chained hi-tech product retail store and captured the valued elements which are simple and futuristic. The environment was bright and clean, provide the feeling of new generation. Therefore, we set our design direction into energetic next generation in French. Linear pattern is the element we selected to fulfill one of the client’s requirement, open space. Material selection mainly focus on glass, acrylic, and metal which create clean and innovative environment.

Project Innovation/Need

The client came from French. We captured the iconic color of French, blue, white and red to symbolize as French style. To maintain overall consistency with the theme, we selected white to be the primary color, blue and red were the secondary color. All the structure used primary color and the details used secondary color, such as mat. The booth was separated in two zones by a public aisle. To solve this problem, we used light effect in the public aisle which is eye-catching and link the booth together. About the graphic decoration, such as poster, we presented into semi-transparent effect which increase the spacing of the booth and eye-catching. Moreover, we selected transparent acrylic tubes to cover the top of the second zone. The light could pass through the tube to keep the bright environment.

Design Challenge

The most challenging part of the design was hidden the power supply equipment. Linear pattern was the main design element of whole exhibition. Thin line present simple and futuristic which the design is hard to become reality. Because of the width and thickness of the structure, the wire and some of the power supply equipment were assembled and inserted during the manufacturing process. Moreover, the structure of the table was made by a metal wire which is not stable. To prevent safety issue, we fixed it on the floor by screws.

Sustainability

Materials selection mainly focus on glass, acrylics and metals. Transparent materials are matching the theme and style, innovation. All the frame is made by metal and mounted the glass with the semi-transparent poster. The tables made by metal and fixed it on the floor by using screws.
