Project Brief
Principle Design were engaged by Ewert Leaf to craft a brand narrative that communicates the core values and unique personality of the practice through a new brand and a new website. As a business that focuses on commerce as well as art, the dichotomy needed to resonate through the design.
Project Innovation/Need
Containing both striking photography and infographics that indicate the project budget, timeline and ROI, the website’s project pages embody Ewert Leaf’s highly creative yet practical approach.
A striking typographic identity is complemented by sophisticated tones and a grid system inspired by architectural plans. The extended brand language evokes the sensitivity and balance of forms evident in a well-designed building.
Design Challenge
The team’s ability to balance highly aesthetic design with the practicality of construction and a data driven approach is evident across their commercial, hospitality, residential and landscape projects. The challenge of the brief was to design a formula that communicates information graphics in a CMS system that is easily usable and is well designed for the user. It was essential that the brand language, collateral and website showcased this point of difference to see how architectural features affect real world outcomes. This doubles in educating the client about what difficulties architects can face with a given space and how they can navigate it for a positive outcome.
