Handmade Redcliffe brings together 75 beautiful handmade stalls, artisanal food & drinks, pretty music, face painting & craft classes ~ all by the seaside.
I created Handmade Redcliffe in February 2013 as I saw a need to bring together handmade artisans (both local and beyond) on the Redcliffe Peninsula to promote them, whilst also establishing for locals a handmade market to sell and purchase handmade wares.
Being a lover of handmade, I longed for a regular, boutique-style handmade market that I could look forward to going to each month but one didn't exist, so I decided to create one. With a background in handmade & business, I felt this would be a perfect way to fuse my experience to help the local community and drive business to our beautiful seaside destination.
The first profile image I used for Handmade Redcliffe on Facebook said the words, "DARE SWEET DREAMER TO DREAM". Yes, dare to dream...it took an enormous deep breath to launch these markets and be an ambassador of HANDMADE those 9 months ago in Redcliffe but everyday I am thankful I did dare.
Innovation
The local community has been supportive and excited by this initiative and by providing a home for our local artisans to showcase their made-by-hand wares, a new community has been forged.
Redcliffe is by the seaside ~ it was important to find a location where patrons could pull up by the beach and smell the salty air as part of the Handmade Redcliffe experience, which is why our markets are set by the sea.
