Project Brief

The Welldosha Spa space is a new concept using materials and multi-functional space to rejoining the natural atmosphere within the main construction.

As it is a female usage space, the red soil connects the main heart of the design. Red soil is a traditional Taiwanese way of building houses , it is an eco way to build houses ad the materials are usually taken from local land. The red soil wall is a signature of home in this design. It also represents for the traditional Taiwanese women they have a thought of believes home is the most important place in their mind. As it is the heart of the design, it can gives the people who enter the space a feel of welcoming.
As it represent a way to translate home, where the space welcomes everyone and feels like home.

The design brought natural atmosphere into the site, and the TV wall is build by concrete, Adding a titanium stripe on the wall gives the wall a touch of elegance, to also speak for the characteristic for new modern women.

Project Need

The site was in a 15 years old modern designed building, the original thought was to rejoining the natural atmosphere within the construction.

The project is to design the main lobby of the Welldosha spa.

The main design concept of the space is to create a multi-functional space which many events can take place in the space. Therefore, we created a space that can be fully openedup suites for different purpose.

The new material that we brought into the design is the traditional red soil wallit is a traditional Taiwanese way of building houses , it is an eco way to build houses ad the materials are usually taken from local land. The red soil wall is a signature of home in this design. It also represents for the traditional Taiwanese women they have a thought of believes home is the most important place in their mind. In the design, it can gives the people who enter the space a feel of welcoming, therefore it is located at the entrance.

We want to bring the original thought of nature in to the construction by designing a decorated moss wall, to introduce green into space, the branches also signatures as strong and energetic modern women today.

Design Challenge

The Challenge of this project is the timing, as it is an going on operating retail space, the construction of taking everything away and put it all together within one month is very difficult. We calculated the timing of each work needed and finally made it worked.

Also as it is a multi-functional space each units within the site are mostly removable, due to we don’t want to limit the space, the space could be transformed as a theater, art gallery, meeting and recreation space, and much more. We also designed the space is separated by sliding door panels, it could be wide open or can be separated for different uses suits for multi-functional usage.

Sustainability

As the usage of electricity within lighting, the design brought the space wide open without much barrier, therefore it gives the natural lighting light up the space.

The space design reused and reformed many existing furniture to decorate the space, to lower the carbon footprint of buying new materials.

Soil wall is a natural material that takes from the local land near by the city, and it also refreshing the space by its natural feel within the space.
