Project Brief

Our customer chose an old building that has many huge windows, which can bring much natural light inside, as future flagship store. Considering that the products are elegant with its simple line and color. In order to suitably display them, designer took advantages of this building rather than adding unnecessary decorations too much. It mainly uses black, white and grey in space. Though, these colors are seemed to be equal to fashion, it gives people cool sensation. Thus, designer put some wooden materials into the space to increase warm and gentle feeling. Plus, the sun shining through windows and the light in building make diverse atmosphere with time. Designer hopes the space would be used sustainably. Even if there will be an update of the products, it is still full of beauty.

Project Innovation/Need

Inspired by Le Corbusie, designer conceived this project from the architecture angle. He tried to combine his ideas with structure to create aesthetically simple functional exhibition space, and he planned traffic flow to make visitors feel like walking into museum. Throughout the process, he insisted to create an ideal showroom without too many waste. As one of the pioneers of modernist architecture had said "Less is more."

Design Challenge

It was medical aesthetic center before. Most part of windows are sealed. The sunlight was stopped so that it's dark inside before. We tore down unnecessary decoration, sufficiently used particular materials, and adjusted details like the light and shadow effect and traffic flow repeatedly to make sure our design could perfectly display the products permanently.

Sustainability

Too many materials may cause waste. We choose specific materials and processing them in different way, like cutting or painting, to create various effect. Relying on materials its own nature texture, the space doesn't need much decoration to beautify it.
