Project Brief

The brief for this campaign was to create an engaging and shareable hero image that captured the energy, magic and theatricality of the yearly event.
Appealing to broad audience of theatre lovers was essential to allow the event to attract more than just the dance industry.

Project Need

We approached the poster more as if we were creating a painting. We wanted the image to be one that you could look at for a while, always seeing something new. This was to encourage a longer and more curious engagement with the audience.

The introduction of the central figure, an unidentified woman in red, adds to this by generating intrigue and mystery in the event, in turn encouraging a longer engagement with the materials.

Design Challenge

Collaboration The Project is a small independent theatre company with a small budget, so the main challenge was to create something striking enough that it would encourage strong online sharing and engagement. By utilising a lush illustrated style, and generating intrigue with the unidentified woman in red, we managed to make an image that viewers were happy to share and promote online.

Sustainability

The printing of all materials was done locally and on a needs basis. Only a relatively small print run was done of larger posters, with the bulk of advertising left for online consumption.
