Project Brief

Logbook Pro dramatically reduces the time spent retroactively lodging distances travelled by tracking on the go.

Logbook Pro has two components – a smartphone or tablet application and a cloud-based web service.

A beautiful, intuitive smartphone and tablet application, Logbook Pro tracks the distance travelled using the device GPS and mapping facilities. It also takes advantage of the Calendar

When complete, data is sent to a cloud based service, where it is stored for administrators to review and produce reports.

Logbook Pro has been developed specifically to be fully compliant with the requirements of the Australian Tax Office for reporting

Project Need

Logging kilometers for expense claims and tax purposes is an arduous task requiring time and effort that could be spent more productively.

It is generally completed retroactively, relying on memory and online mapping tools, then manually entered into management systems for submitting expense claims or creating reports.

One employee travelling two days a week spends an average of one hour a week completing logbooks. Over a year, that adds up to a full week of lost productivity.

Logbook Pro is not the first app of it's kind, but it is certainly the easiest to use and most intuitive.

User Experience

Great user experience is the key to all the successful apps we've built and close to our hearts.

When we approached making this app - we wanted to be sure that, unlike the current apps out there that mimicked the physical paper logging process - we wanted to create an app that worked almost invisibly.

The app has one large button and that is almost all you need to use. One tap to turn it on and one tap to turn it off. Everything else happens automatically. In fact, we even built in an optional auto-off feature that ends your trip if you forget to tap it off.

Project Marketing

We are working with motoring and taxation industry organisations to get their endorsements before launching a mainstream media PR campaign.

We are also working with Apple's content team to feature the app both locally and globally.

Finally, we will be undertaking a digital/social media campaign to create awareness of both the need and the solution.
