Project Overview

BEEEEEEEEEEP! Your phone alarm wakes you at 6.00am. Time to get up.
But it’s cold…and you’re cozy.
You hit snooze – another 10 minutes sleep…perfect!
BEEEEEEEEEEP! Bugger! You’re late.

You get up. There’s no time for breakfast, but that’s ok because you have a secret weapon.
You get out the door, walk to the car and pull out your smartphone. You click on 365cups.
*Tap, wham, bam!* Breakfast is ordered.

You arrive at the café 15 minutes later. Your order’s waiting for you to collect. Genius!

Project Brief

We’re still working on our App that turns water into latte, but in the meantime, we think 365cups is the next best thing.

365cups gets your coffee or snack to you faster through our smartphone ordering system. Whether you’re dining in or taking away, using 365cups will ensure that your order is ready for you when you arrive – be it a coffee, pizza, hot dog or newspaper! No waiting required.

iPhone and Android compatible, 365cups is easy to access, simple to use and available 24/7 via the click of a button.

So how does 365cups work?
• Use the app to search for your cafés using the 365cups program
• Check out the menu
• Place your order and indicate a collection time
• Collect and use your loyalty bonuses
• Pay using your online credits
• Make your way to the café
• Collect your order…and away you go!

Cafes sign up to the 365cups system and the orders start rolling in.

Ca-ching! There’s another one.

We provide cafes with a complete mobile ordering system that can be customised to their needs. It eliminates disruptive phone orders, streamlines ordering processes, provides exposure to new customers, and allows them to provide a faster and more convenient service to their tech-savvy customers.

Whether you’re a client or a customer, 365cups provides a high quality, fresh product that will become a regular part of your day. Coffee anyone?

Project Need

We are back bigger and better to defend our title! Since last year we have had a complete UI overhaul and our clients and users base has exploded all across Oz and NZ!

Born in regional NSW, 365cups was the first to market with an iPhone coffee ordering app in Australia and holds an innovation patent. Our clients can get intimate with their customers!

For customers, some of our innovative features include:
• Search function so they can locate a café by name or location
• Images of menu items
• Loyalty rewards programs
• Collection time input to alert cafes of when their order needs to be ready
• Favourites list where they can store their favourite cafes for quick access and add
notes
• Credit option where they can pay for their orders using online credits
• Social media compatibility, so they can post directly to a cafes page after they
order.

For café clients, the app provides:

• Online access to orders
• A linked thermal printer that automatically prints orders as they’re placed
• Four customer loyalty options
• Social media feeds on their 365cups profile
• An ordering method that is convenient for busy tech-savvy customers
• Increased market exposure
• Faster service for their customers
• Real-time stats on customer buying habits which can be used for targeted
marketing campaigns
• E-Marketing capabilities

And boy, has 365cups grown! Since going live in January 2011, we have achieved the following outcomes:

• More than 25,000 registered app users
• Over 100 clients throughout Australia and New Zealand
• 160,000 orders (and climbing!)
• Over $1.5 million in revenue generated for clients

User Experience

Customers (app users):

For customers, it’s about fast, easy and convenient ordering that saves time and can be done with a tap of their smartphones.

• Browse the menu and place your order.
• You score a free coffee through the loyalty program. Bonus!
• Nominate your collection time.
• Pay via online credits, or upon collection.
• Go the café where your order is ready.
• Use the app to post to the cafes social media page. Like!

Clients (cafes):

For clients, it’s about more effective ordering systems, increasing sales and keeping up with their tech-savvy customers.

• Customise your profile, with options to add images, loyalty programs, delivery,
dine-in or takeaway options, online credit payment and e-marketing capabilities.
• Receive orders online via a tablet or through the thermal printer.
• Orders are prepared according to nominated collection times.
• Employees are busy providing awesome service instead of taking phone orders.
• Table orders are being taken on devices using the 365cups app.
• Real time sales stats are available at the click of a button.

365cups was developed by two coffee and gadget-loving friends - we had never worked in the hospitality industry. We work closely with venue owners to ensure the system works for them and their customers. We welcome client and customer feedback and ideas, which help us to meet the changing needs of market. We will never be a ‘finished product’ – 365cups will continue to grow and evolve with our market.

Project Marketing

Our marketing strategy positions 365cups as the leader in mobile ordering in Australia – the first to go to market with mobile coffee ordering and one that is continually being improved and enhanced to meet the changing market.

Customers:
Our ‘customer’ marketing strategies focus around online tactics, which fits their profile as tech-savvy app users. We primarily use social media and YouTube to engage users. We are connected with over 2,000 people via social media and our engagement is roasting! Word of Mouth has also been very effective. We engage customers with an annual survey where they can provide feedback and suggestions to improve the app.

Clients:
Again, we use online tactics such as our website, social media and YouTube to engage clients. We also use direct marketing tactics and face-to-face promotion. Word of Mouth has been effective with clients, as has our annual client feedback survey. Our close working relationship with clients allows for regular feedback and suggestions.

General strategies:
We have a marketing and public relations plan that outlines the actions and tactics we use to target new users and clients, and maintain communications with current users and clients. It also outlines steps we will take to gain broad media coverage of 365cups, which has recently resulted in coverage on 60 Minutes, Sky News, Prime and Win TV and in the Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, the Brisbane Times and on Sydney 2UE and Perth 6PR radio.
