Project Overview

This project is adjacent to Kunming University with convenient transportation and strong academic atmosphere, which is planned to be built into a natural, humanistic and green demonstration area. After exploring the urban context and understanding the current lifestyle, the Designer establishes the most reasonable spatial function logic in the de-stylized design, with an intention to create a space where the city and nature coexist, and interpret the new ideas of contemporary art aesthetics.

Project Brief

With the human settlement concept of "living between mountains and rivers first", the whole exterior building returns to the local culture of the site, and responds to the call of modern human settlement culture of living between mountains and rivers with the breakthrough point of the spiritual demand of space. The interior design continues the concept of high mountains and flowing water in building, takes the growth of all things as the design inspiration source, retains the natural theme elements, explores the natural context of Kunming, narrows the distance between nature and city, and endows the space with a unique, delicate and beautiful sensory experience.

Project Need

In this project, the designer organizes and constructs the space modeling with orderly natural language, forming an upward beauty of order. The bright and magnificent negotiation area is highlighted by warm and steady green pillows, blending the natural tone into the space environment and conveying an artistic and harmonious atmosphere.

Design Challenge

The light green and land gray embellishments make the cream-colored space full of vitality and linkable to each functional area. The Designer abandons the traditional symmetrical technique to let the space develop freely. Disassembly raises the atria of the sales center to the third floor, the brand and negotiation areas remain unchanged, and the sales hall rises to the second floor, making the space progressive layer by layer, just like mountains. The shape of the mountain is abstracted into the space, and the carefully carved details enrich the space, adding diversified interactive imagination to people and scenery. Multi-layered green plant decorations convey the vitality and beauty of all things to visitors.

Sustainability

The interior design of the sales center focuses on the unity with the overall effect and details of the building. In order to realize the sustainability of the project, at the beginning of the design, the Designer has considered the combination of the building with the supermarket function after the end of the sales function, the early implementation of mechanical and electrical equipment points, and the necessary space reservation in advance to create conditions for later restoration.

Open to all international projects this award celebrates innovative and creative building interiors, with consideration given to space creation and planning, furnishings, finishes, aesthetic presentation and functionality. Consideration also given to space allocation, flow, building services, lighting, fixtures, flooring, colours, furnishings and surface finishes.
