Project Overview

Nanshan original art centre is located in the corner of Nanshan, Nankang, Ganzhou. Nanshan, like a natural barrier, embraces here and combines with Ganzhou's long Hakka culture. The design tries to transform the invisible mountain wind, air, cloud and light in the nature into the perceptible experience of Mountain Cloud residence in the space. At the same time, the expression of design itself is not only reflected in the design technique and style itself, but also deeply concerned about the collision between local culture and contemporary artists, which makes the traditional beauty stand the questioning of time.

Project Brief

Nanshan original art gallery is located in the corner of Nanshan, Nankang, Ganzhou. It has good natural landscape.Space in such a natural ecological environment, and Ganzhou long Hakka tradition, constitute a source of inspiration. The space design of five floors, each floor has unique characteristics, also has continuity, will present the natural and humanistic characteristics.
The natural things in the sense, mountain wind, air and light, reflect each other with space and form a changing scenery, which is the feeling of deep spiritual beauty and pure. This form of beauty is the charm precipitated and derived from traditional culture, which arouses people's love and cordial emotion.
In terms of design expression,is deeply concerned about the local humanistic spirit, focusing on modern regional culture and artistic expression: Artist Wei Tong was inspired by the "Yin-Yang Theory" to design cloud porcelain to form a carved decorative wall to promote the beauty of Chinese porcelain. The spiral staircase combines the unique local "Nankang bamboo" and stone, and uses the toughness of "Nankang bamboo" to shape and fix the edge, so that the edge fits the stone naturally and lightly, thereby reshaping the boundary between function and art .Applying traditional calligraphy to the spatial layout, the musicality of calligraphy, the unrestrained tension and aura form the infectious communication between space and people, as well as an unforgettable sensory experience.

Project Need

Natural ecology, humanistic exploration and contemporary art run through the whole five floor space. The quietness and tension conveyed by each layer reveal the intrinsic nature of matter; the scale, proportion and combination form all contain delicate thinking, which makes people's perception of beauty ambiguous between simple and complex, and makes the form of beauty become an existence that can stand the questioning of time, thus arousing people's love for life and cordial feelings for nature.

Design Challenge

In order to get a better sense of space, the space is made 12 meters high, allowing light to flow more freely in the space. Nanshan scenery visually gives people the enjoyment of nature. Walking up the steps, light and shadow echo with people like flowing water, just like swimming in the general landscape artistic conception of painting. The use of environmental texture of the coating wall materials, from color to process control details, this extremely exquisite minimalist process brings more challenges to the design, while bringing beauty to the space.

Sustainability

In terms of design expression, we pay close attention to the local humanities and focus on the expression of the combination of contemporary local culture and art. The artist Wei Tong was inspired by the "Yin-Yang Theory" to design cloud porcelain to form a carved decorative wall to promote the beauty of Chinese porcelain. The spiral staircase combines the unique local "Nankang bamboo" and marble, and uses the toughness of "Nankang bamboo" to shape and fix the edge, so that the edge fits the stone naturally and lightly, thereby reshaping the boundary between function and art .The paint and marble used in the space are environment-friendly texture paint and inorganic artificial marble, which are not only durable, but also environmentally friendly.
