Project Brief

Facing the first row of the forest park, the volumetric configuration of the three high-rise buildings with the largest indoor area was abandoned during the building volume plan, and 60% of the land was released as open space, adjacent to the park green space, and expanded the urban ecological island-hopping benefit. With the lowest impact land development method, establish a friendly environment base configuration and leave a large area of open space.

Project Innovation/Need

On the corner of the street welcoming the park and the crowds of large-scale IKEA, the wide square center is a public artwork composed of multi-faceted diamond-shaped metal. The anti-colored metal on the ground reflects the colorful paintings on the carvings, and the colorful changes in the daytime are like a kaleidoscope. Another special romantic atmosphere brings another style to the street. Cross the square, walk along the sweet-scented osmanthus trail across the small bridge and flow to the backyard, sit quietly in the daze pavilion or afternoon tea pavilion, admiring the waterfall. Or you can walk along the trails in the triple-shaded deciduous pine forest block. The tall tree canopy and slender tree trunks decorate the profound sense of space, making people slow down and enter the pine landscape. In autumn and winter, the leaf color of Larix sylvestris turns to orange-brown, adding a strong sense of season to the scenery along the street, creating the unique landscape of Double-Oak Garden.

Design Challenge

The middle square of Yakyu Pine Avenue is the entrance to the community. The image of flowing water adds to the lively feeling of the hall. The tall and strong sweet-scented osmanthus has a faint fragrance, the local native vine grapes are outstanding and numerous fruits, and the bright purple fruit is attractive and attractive to pick. Quoting also drew urban birds to peck. There are three pocket spaces on the promenade along the street. Pools and street furniture are arranged to embellish the prelude to the courtyard. The flow of the water guides the pace of the courtyard. The water source is mostly decorated with large trees, surrounded by camphor trees, big barks, and beech trees, Hejin cherry, crape myrtle, gardenia and other trees are scattered around the edges, and the plants are scattered in high and low levels, making the courtyard present a rhythmic and poetic posture.
The arbor in the middle of the courtyard is dominated by rich colors as a whole, with sugar maple, Fuji cherry, mountain horse tea, tassel and other arbor, dotted with bright white and red colors, green, light and shadow, and other lively paved waters. The burnt-faced slate platform creates the atmosphere of a Japanese garden, and can also create the possibility of rest here. The large slate platform is next to the water, allowing building materials and natural stones to blend together, invisibly showing the meticulousness of building materials and landscape plants.

Sustainability

Throughout the entire project, nearly 70% of the entire site’s land is released for greening and public use. The overall street corner landscape space is opened to make the field of vision broad clear. The park will guide the view and the flowing water will flow through, which is both open and fun. The courtyard traveling tours are no longer just inward self-appreciation and a contribute to the urban ecological connection. The logic should also be allocated from this to create a community unit for each household. The subtropical climate in Taiwan is the most suitable south-facing residential unit, where each household faces the park’s large green space and comfortable microclimate. With such a land mass allocation strategy and landscape courtyard garden design techniques, it creates a win-win situation of urban architectural development, residential life microclimate adjustment and urban ecological quality optimization.
