Project Brief

To provide an exclusive experience, we have applied a theatrical design concept within the cinema houses. This creates a harmonised and solemn atmosphere to allow the audience to indulge in the movie.

Clean, simple linings and clear-cut patterns are adopted to correspond with natural marble and wooden materials. To create a modern dynamic interior space, the use of metal and crafted glass in the details take the whole design to another level by immersing unique Art Deco style to the cinema.

Project Innovation/Need

Combining 20th Century French Art Deco with a contemporary style, giving the brand a new experience to the guests. We have designed a magnifcent chandelier as the main feature of the box office, as the light casts reflections on the floor and ceiling to diffuse artistic atmosphere throughout the interior. Ultimately creating a grand and elegant attraction focus point in the design.

At the back of the box office, customers may have a sneak peek of the VIP room called BackstagE, where craft glass and crude wood interior are used as an insulation layer, creating a looming effect which triggers customer’s curiosity.

Design Challenge

By trying to create a theatrical design to the interior proved to be the challenge, because the cinema itself is located inside a modern shopping mall and therefore was quite difficult to give that theatre ambiance. Moreover, the ceiling was too low so the designers had to think out of the box and come up with solutions to create depth.
