Project Brief

The interior space continues the layout of Hakka elements. The main hall, study room, kitchen, guest room, etc., incorporate Hakka elements into oriental ink painting. The space has more culture and aesthetics. The gray-scale colour scheme makes the space poetic and calm.

Project Need

The artistic conception in the works of the painter Wu Guan-Zhong expresses the scenery of the south of the Yangtze River, such as the fresh green in the early spring, thin mist, waterside villages, black tiles and white walls, harmonious and fresh colours, tranquil and light state, making the picture a lyrical poetry the appeal is the direction of design transformation. In front of the plaza, there is a half-moon pond, which was used for water storage and fire fighting in the old days. It was combined into a half-moon shape by the combination of double circles and integrated into the end view of the entrance of the plaza. The connection between plaza and the main hall, using a combination of a fictitious and a real combination of the Hakka square hall and the Hakka square well, represents the meaning of family prosperity.

Design Challenge

Based on the traditional architectural style of the Hakka house, it faces south and there are three Taiwanese beech trees in front of the door. In summer, the south wind is cooler, and the light and shadow change also bring the building to life. In the evening, there are more sounds of children playing in the field, and the space between the corridors also shields the sun from rain. The change of light, the flow of wind, and the warm connection between people, cater to the changes of four seasons and coexist with the environment.

Sustainability

The indoor air conditioner is a heat pump system with a heat storage device, which can provide the heat energy generated by the air conditioner as hot water, and a rainwater recovery system is installed under the turf to separate domestic wastewater and rainwater. After collection, it can be used for green spray tanks. Part of the wall uses algae earth to purify the air and adjust the humidity to make the room more comfortable. Furthermore, a carbonized heat-treated wood board is used to dry the wood so that the moisture content reaches 0%. At this time, the wood’s insects, carbohydrate and starch It will be taken away together, and all fungi and molds will be killed, and finally the moisture content of the wood will be reduced to 7%, so that the wood has the characteristics of insect resistance, moisture resistance and corrosion protection.
