Project Overview
The prototype of the fairyland depicted in the Peach Blossom Spring, a famous essay of Eastern Jin Dynasty poet Tao Yuanming, is located in the city of Changde. As a result, the city has been labelled as a “city in the Peach Blossom Spring". The overall layout of Eco Smart City Sales Center is inspired by the patterns of ancient grand mansions, imitating the three-courtyard system to divide and differentiate the visions and functions of the spatial dimensions. It embraces the theme of Peach Blossom Spring to create a modern building sales center of profound cultural heritage.

Project Brief
Eco Smart City Sales Center is an international riverside landmark of Changde with the largest central parks. When the building sales center has fulfilled its profiting function, it will serve as a reception center in the largest central parks of the city to accommodate public visits. The architectural concept is about expressing the space theme of "welcome" with the Guest-Greeting Pine landscape rockeries. With the view borrowing technique of ancient gardens, the front and back spaces complement each other to create a layered effect of both separation and connection.
Project Need
The sand table in this space is illuminated with self-luminous thermostat lamps. The ceiling lamps running through the entire central hall follows the pattern of the Chuanzi River of Changde in design. The peach blossom-shaped ceiling lamps extend forward like a river, showing the way for customers in supreme courtesy. Light perception color temperature and hard-fitting perfectly match to present a world of its own like the Peach Blossom Spring. Besides, walking through the arch moon gate, customers may reach the main hall, or the negotiation area, with a theme of “gathering”. The ceiling screen projects dynamic peach blossom scenes, letting the customers feel as if they are placed in the peach blossom spring.
Design Challenge
In order to create an city memory hall atmosphere, the designer personally toured Changde to collect paintings, calligraphies and works of art of the Ming and Qing dynasties, and sealed them with the special wire super-long art glass technology. With a 50-year-old tung oil boat, calligraphies and paintings of gifted scholars, antiques and old photos, the space looks like a tiny museum, telling the story of the old city. Besides, in the entrance area, the designer adopts the external wall mechanical hoisting technology to hang up a 9-meter-high LED screen in the front hall of the space. The waterfall scenes in the screen work with the waterscape lighting devices presenting abstract peaks to impress customers as personally involved in the ecological friendly scene as soon as they enter the gate.
Sustainability
Refer to the sustainability, this entire space is illuminated with energy-saving LED lamps, which emit little heat with good heat dissipation performance. They not only adjust the illuminance index according to the environment, but also control the light sources by areas, to save energy. The furniture is made of solid wood with natural marble tabletop, free of formaldehyde, thus environmental friendly for good health.
