Project Brief
Iron pieces, bright mirrors and clear glasses are used for the foyer, the meeting room, the tea room and the supervisor’s office, creating the characteristic of spatial extension, avoiding any sense of oppression as a result of independent rooms; the office area is presented with exposed ceiling design, utilizing the natural lighting from the building’s French windows to enhance the brightness of the office area, thereby reducing the need for lighting during the day.
Project Innovation/Need
A large interior region utilized full height glass partitions such that the space is divided but uninterrupted, accomplishing visual balance via transparent glasses and the wall on one side, so that the supervisor’s room located on the inner side also has sufficient lighting because of this; the raised and exposed ceiling design reduced the use of blank-off panels, while natural lighting replaced artificial lighting to brighten up the largest office area in the entire space and the supervisor’s room, where the functional main light source with the added decorative projection effect reduces the oppressed sensation of the narrow long space.
Design Challenge
The living space for modern people is becoming narrower each day, with the majority of the time been spent in the office, the spatial design also actively makes a connection with the natural environment while activating inspiration at the same time, thereby reducing the usage time of switching on the lights during the day, offering energy-saving design ranging from daily lighting control to high energy-efficient space. The entire room used poison-free coating to decrease the formaldehyde content produced during the renovation, hoping to stimulate the eco-friendly trend for Taiwan’s green renovation, little by little and bit by bit to reduce the harms caused to the earth.
Sustainability
Although poison-free paint is used, we have reduced the scope on site that requires painting again for the construction materials, using iron pieces, glasses, mirrors and paint-free veneer for the material combination, while the office furniture also utilized the spray-painting structure with GREENGUARD certification, a massive amount of storage cabinets with the adoption of E1 spec eco-friendly panels. The natural advantageous design is ingeniously combined with material applications, as if a comfortable ambience is spread naturally in the space, allowing personnel to spend 1/3 of their day in the space with an excellent e environmental quality.
