Project Brief

"TARGA" originated from Targa Florio, a road race in Sicily, Italy. It started in 1906 and is the oldest pure road race in Europe. PORSCHE has been involved in Targa Florio events since the 1960s and has won several championships. The name Targa began to be used on the 911 model in 1965. At that time, the safety of the US government's convertible put forward high standards, requiring that the convertible must have a roll cage to avoid lethality damage to the passengers in the car when it is overturned. As there was no advanced technology of the active roll cage, Porsche creatively designed a large B-pillar to solve the problem. The very first Porsche 911 Targa was born!

Project Innovation/Need

Inspired by PORSCHE TARGA, TARGAVOLA fully retaining the classic and thick B-pillar of TARGA. Charming rear triangle window curve of the 911 series, hand-made with stainless steel. The tempered glass table top is more derived from TARGA Unique large-area curved glass rear window.

Design Challenge

How to impeccably reserve the quintessence of Porsche Targa and to design the ingenious masterpiece exclusive to oneself? To complete this challenge, the designer continued to use the original classic and strong B pillar, and the designer meanwhile installed a stylish rear quarter glass. Showing its consistency to the trend of environmental protection, the overall car was made of stainless steel and tempered glass, all of which are of excellent quality and durability. The environmentally friendly auto paints are exquisite and delicate. Each manufacturing process has gradually completed this car with fashionable and stylish craftmanship.

Sustainability

Made with handmade stainless steel and reinforced glass to offer the unique style that is beautiful and practical; high-quality materials with quality assurance are applied to extend the lifespan of usage and decrease the replacement rate. Eco-friendly paint is utilized for the external spray-painting to accomplish the goals of energy-saving and environmental protection, as well as hazardous-free to humans.
