Project Brief
PrimeTime is a groundbreaking platform bringing on demand Hollywood movies and TV content to the Thai market. Appsynth worked with PrimeTime Entertainment and their backend team to help create the launch version of their mobile and web applications.
The platform features a vast library of the world’s most popular movies and TV shows for users to watch uninterrupted at their desired pace. The service's movie buffet offering now provides the means for Thai consumers to binge watch their favourite movies and shows legally.
With bootleg DVDs dominating the market, the PrimeTime apps needed to offer a superior experience to change the status quo. For this reason high end quality was a must, supporting HD (and imminently 4k Ultra HD) picture quality with DTS 5.1 Surround Sound audio quality.
PrimeTime's studio deals ensures the platform receives recent Hollywood blockbusters almost immediately after their global theatrical releases, which can be instantly updated on the fly.
Project Need
Users can view PrimeTime movies and television series on their big screen TV via Apple TV, Google Chromecast or an HDMI cable, with stunning HD quality streaming from their mobile device without interruption, which is quite a technological feat. Primetime is the first provider in Thailand to have integrated premium quality to their online services.
As network speeds can be low in this market, the apps work using low bandwidth consumption, ensuring users can access their favourite PrimeTime content anywhere with all strengths of internet connection. PrimeTime was launched with a high-profile press conference held in Thailand's luxurious Paragon shopping mall, attracting numerous celebrities and media providing a very grand opening for the service and strong press coverage.
A series of creative TV advertisements were produced which have given broad exposure to the service, running online as well as being featured widely on out of home media.
Well targeting advertisements and content also ensure that movie and TV fanatics are being engaged online.
PrimeTime is now collaborating with leading IPTV providers, with the app now being pre-installed on set top boxes from some of the market's biggest players.
Project Privacy
Strong encryption of content is required to ensure it cannot be ripped or accessed by unauthorised individuals, only being decrypted at the time of streaming.
Users have the option of signing up with either Facebook or manually depending on their preference, with all data being stored securely.
