Project Overview

The project area is located on the southeast side of the intersection of Jinxiu Avenue and Jinzhai South Road, Feixi County, only 1.0 km away from the Emerald Lake, enjoying perfect surrounding supporting facilities and excellent landscape resources. There are three major LONGFOR communities built within 2.5km of the area.
The Emerald Lake is the key landscape resource around the project, and the Lakeside Hotel Hefei is also the inspiration source of this design. The hotel integrates the Hui-style decoration and style of modern state guesthouse, and extracts the elements of Han and Tang dynasties and Huizhou, realizing the integration of modern sense and Hui style and forming a unique modern Hui style.
The noble home-returning ritual order, the traditional symmetrical layout and the full-height exquisitely decorated columns create an urban hidden parlor. The street-side interface of the demonstration zone features a huge scale of about 81 meters wide and 7 meters high, enjoying a boundless vision and offering an ascendant super ritual experience.
The overall pattern is spread out in the way of "courtyard", and the spatial layout of "one axis three courtyards" is adopted. The project fully considers the requirements of privacy for modern residences, strives to create different artistic conception and atmosphere, creates a unique home-returning ritual order space of "three courtyards" of Longfor, and reproduces the charm of the State Guesthouse.

Project Brief

The demonstration area located in the southeast corner of the plot is far away from the interference of the urban expressway and can be used as the main community ceremonial home-returning entrance in the future, "enjoying the bustling scene outside and the tranquility inside", highlighting a tranquil noble sense.
The first courtyard: "Oriental Scroll": Is a tribute to the city, and the ceremonial gate shows the grandeur. The simple and symmetrical space form brings bright and harmonious rhythm, and ensures the well-arranged spatial scale in the absence of large-scale front square space, highlighting a strong sense of guidance and ceremony.
The second courtyard: "Pool and Fish Courtyard": The east side of the courtyard is the home-returning corridor, which is arranged with landscape walls and lampstands to create a home-returning ritual order. The metal line corridor enclosure is located on the north side, and large areas of luxury stone and selected Chinese tallow trees quietly complete the transition from prosperity to peace of mind. In this way, the architectural spatial sequence is emphasized and the ever-changing landscape spatial experience is created.
The third courtyard: "Gilding Mountain Courtyard": a pavilion is designed on the water surface, and a platform made of luxury stone is arranged in the pool to create a unique Chinese painting-like scene for every visitor.

Project Innovation/Need

Based on the comparison and selection of the multiple schemes of the whole street interface landscape wall and details, the one with Hermes grey stone landscape wall as the main wall and supplemented with corrugated stone base is finally determined. The imitation bamboo glazed brick, a new material with Chinese style significance, is used to highlight the good meaning of the rising and uprightness of bamboo, one of the Chinese "three gentlemen" of plants.
NOBLE MANOR takes the art of luxury stone to the extreme by selecting non-mass-produced luxury stones from four continents. The carefully selected materials show unparalleled texture and strength, giving the entire space a new vitality and aesthetic feeling. Set off by the sky and light and shadow, the three materials of Hermes grey stone, bamboo glazed brick, and brushed stainless steel door present a very harmonious and rich facade rhythmic relationship.
The design breaks with the traditional way of laying the same stone for full height, and instead uses corrugated stone as the base of the Hermes grey stone, the segmented design brings precise proportions. The roof adopts the overhanging and overlapping design of cornice + official cornice, the top cornices protrude 19 degrees, this golden ratio weakens the thickness of the roof and gives people a sense of closeness and lightness.

Design Challenge

Venue & Strategy: If you want to start a construction project in a city, you should first understand its history. Hefei, known as Luzhou in ancient times, is an ancient city with a history of more than 2,200 years. This cultural city has a long history, profound heritage, and new opportunities given by the times. Hefei is also known as "the historic site of the Three Kingdoms, Bao Zheng's hometown, and the cradle of the Huai Army", doing farm work on sunny days and reading on rainy days is the traditional daily trend of life of Hefei people, and they pay much attention to education.
Hui-style architecture embodies the wisdom and art of ancient Chinese architecture and shows the rich connotation of traditional Chinese culture, which is the reason why they are full of charm. This kind of building widely uses brick, wood, stone carving, and other traditional materials to demonstrate a superb level of decorative art, the exquisite technology, symmetrical layout, and elegant decoration highlight the ancient people's pursuit of beauty and unique aesthetic concepts.
The design focus of this project is to create a classic. Different from traditional commercial thinking, it regards residential design as an exploration of national treasure or urban cultural context and constructs a State Guesthouse-like elegant living experience with unique garden construction aesthetics.

Sustainability

This project is not limited to simply creating a project, it gives the architecture a kind of "identity construction", and forms a unique "field temperament" and "cultural language". The demonstration area is a work of art, which features Oriental heritage, the home-returning ritual order of the imperial family, the natural elegance and luxury of Jiangnan gardens, and the temperament of pure tranquility.
The "identity construction" of the building benefits from the different treatment of materials or manual work. Each piece of luxury stone in the project can be called "with rich characteristics", and different techniques are used in different areas to create more than 10 kinds of effects such as acid washing, matte surface, and leather surface. For example, on both sides of the gate, there are hand-customized landscape walls with more than 3,000 pieces of bamboo porcelain, and in the middle is the huge "Spun Gold Xihe Gate", showing the ultimate classic effect.
There are gardens in the garden, showing the effect of successive layers, the integration of mountains and rivers brings a spatial experience of constantly changing scenery. Much in little, the project constructs accessible, enjoyable, and livable garden life in the limited space, and creates a demonstration area with the natural, elegant, and luxurious charm of Jiangnan gardens.
